My priorities

The issues I’ll focus on for Somerset Ward — grounded in what I’ve seen navigating our city every day, and in what residents tell me matters most.

Accessibility First

As someone who uses a wheelchair every day, I know how a cracked sidewalk, an inaccessible entrance or poor snow clearing can become a real barrier. I will push for improved sidewalk maintenance, better snow-clearing standards and stronger accessibility requirements in city projects, and work with businesses and community groups to remove barriers along corridors like Elgin Street and Bank Street. A more accessible city benefits everyone — seniors, parents with strollers, people recovering from injury and residents living with disabilities.

Reliable Transit for Everyone

Ottawa’s LRT has faced real challenges, and restoring public confidence must remain a priority. I support continued work on reliability, accountability and better communication with riders when service is disrupted, and I support continued LRT expansion so more communities benefit from efficient, sustainable transit. As a wheelchair user, I also know how vital accessible transportation is — I will advocate for improvements to Para Transpo reliability, scheduling and customer experience so residents can travel with confidence and dignity.

Fiscal Responsibility & Accountability

Residents deserve confidence that their tax dollars are being spent wisely. As a Business Administration graduate pursuing a CPA designation, I’ll bring a fiscally responsible perspective to City Hall: responsible investment, transparent decision-making and public funds used effectively. Fiscal responsibility isn’t about saying yes to every project or no to every project — it’s about making informed decisions that deliver results for residents while respecting taxpayers.

Housing & Homelessness

Homelessness is one of the most visible and complex challenges facing Somerset Ward. There are no simple solutions, but doing nothing is not an option. The City must keep working with community organizations, the Province and the federal government to address root causes — emergency shelters matter, but so do transitional and supportive housing, mental-health supports, addiction services and pathways to long-term stability. We can be compassionate while keeping our parks, sidewalks and public spaces safe, welcoming and accessible for everyone.

Supporting Local Business & Downtown Revitalization

Small businesses are essential to the character and success of Somerset Ward. From restaurants and cafés to retail shops and professional services, local businesses create jobs and build vibrant neighbourhoods. I’ll advocate for policies that support local entrepreneurs and encourage economic activity in our downtown core, and I believe we should invest in clean, attractive, accessible public spaces that encourage residents and visitors to support local businesses and community events. A thriving downtown benefits all of Ottawa.

Responsible Investment in Lansdowne Park

Lansdowne Park is an important asset for our city and our community. I support responsible redevelopment that protects Lansdowne’s future while making sure taxpayers receive value for their investment. Ottawa taxpayers should not bear the burden alone: before moving ahead with major investments, the City should aggressively pursue provincial and federal funding to reduce costs for residents. With a business and accounting background, I believe major projects should be evaluated carefully, transparently and with a focus on long-term value.

A More Responsive City Hall

My campaign is #YourVoice because I believe residents deserve to be heard. Too often people feel disconnected from City Hall and unsure whether their concerns make a difference. If elected, I’ll prioritize communication, accessibility and community engagement — I’ll listen to residents, respond to concerns, and make sure decisions are informed by the people most affected by them. My responsibility will be simple: to represent Somerset Ward and make sure your voice is heard at City Hall.
